The selected individual will be part of a Petrophysics team reporting to the ORCM Manager of Petrophysics, embedded within the BUs Subsurface Technology organization. Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to adapt and thrive in a multicultural environment.Must possess a broad petrophysical background and knowledge of unconventional reservoir evaluation techniques. Applicant should be capable of providing analysis utilizing classical petrophysical techniques including core analysis, open and cased-hole log interpretation application. A critical part of the job is maintaining continuity and consistency of technical work, communication, and business objectives with the BU. Qualifications REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience with an oil & gas operating company conducting petrophysical analyses and assisting logging operations.
- A minimum of 3 years of documented experience in petrophysical studies of offshore GOM deepwater reservoirs including the design of LWD and wireline logging operations.
- Strong background in acquiring and interpreting wireline formation pressures and fluid samples is required.
- Have practical experience in estimating seismic and/or mechanical properties from log data.
- Proficiency in computer-based log analysis using a petrophysical software package (Interactive Petrophysics or equivalent) is a must, and working experience with proven track record of writing computer code for petrophysical programs in either Python, Matlab, or C++ is highly beneficial.
- Experience with the evaluation of routine core analysis data and core-based rock-typing in conjunction with reservoir modeling studies. Understanding of facies and saturation height functions is desirable.
